Austin and Ginny are a pair of very adorable Miniature Australian Shepherds. Austin is the Aussie with the brown coat, and is more of a shy guy compared to his sister. Austin prefers the attention from his people friends, but still loves to play tag with Ginny.

Ginny, with the merle coat, is much more of the social butterfly. Ginny loves jumping on top of the play equipment inside of the playrooms and even took a refreshing dip in the pools today!

We love when Ginny and Austin come to play at The Woof Room and we look forward to days of fun with these two!

Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here,
that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine,
and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor;
those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again,
just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing;
they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together,
but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance.
His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers.
Suddenly he begins to run from the group,
flying over the green grass,
his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet,
you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again.
The happy kisses rain upon your face;
your hands again caress the beloved head,
and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet,
so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together….

Daisy is a 14 year old Black Lab mix who we have recently fallen in love with <3 You would think that a girl of her age would tire quickly…but not Daisy! On the inside, Daisy swears she is still a puppy! Daisy loves to hop around on her hind legs and lather up all the love and attention that she can get. Daisy has such a happy soul and always come through our doors with warm eyes and a bright smile!

Sookie is a 3 year old and beautiful Boxer who recently started attending daycare at The Woof Room. Sookie was very shy and timid during her fist few visits with us, but now her Boxer personality is in full swing! Sookie is having a blast wrestling with her Shepherd friend Tootsie and romping around the play areas all day!

Okay, so the last post about the spring weather was a flop…lets hope this one sticks! We have pulled out the swimming pools again and the dogs have been loving it! Below is a picture of lovely Topanga, loving the weather and loving the new pools!

Our condolences, thoughts and prayers go out to those who have been shaken by the recent bombing in Boston, Massachusetts.

The Woof Room also sends out thank you’s to the service Men and Women, and also the service dogs. To the Bomb Squad dogs, Comfort dogs that are helping those in hospitals, and K-9 unit dogs we bow our heads for you. Thank you for using your intelligence where the humans can’t and most importantly, thank you for being mans best friend!

Finally winter seems to be breaking here at The Woof Room! Even with the chilly winds and occasional rain trying to keep winter here, the pups at TWR are having a blast in the warmer weather.  Our backyard is almost clear of snow and ice, and the dogs seem to be so happy to have the grass tickling their feet again! Pictured above is Murphy the French Bulldog–Murphy is having SO much fun outside, that he even starts blowing bubbles! Our staff and dogs are very thrilled to be able to spend more time outside in the fresh air.

Meet Martin! Martin is a very handsome 1 year old Boxer mix. Martin has been a friend of The Woof Room since December and comes to play occasionally. When Martin first started coming to TWR he was very shy at first, but loved playing with the other dogs. Martin has since warmed up to us and now likes to play fetch with our staff and loves to sprint around our playrooms with his friends. We always enjoy Martin’s visits to The Woof Room, and we hope for many more to come!
