FAQ

Why should I choose The Woof Room for my dog?
The owners, manager, supervisor and staff at The Woof Room understand that they’re more than just dogs. We take pride in providing a safe and fun environment for your dogs and becoming their home away from home. Your dog will be well taken care of and loved as if they were our own, while having the most fun possible! Of course they’ll miss you while you’re gone, but with our generously sized indoor and outdoor play space the time will fly by! And if they spend the night with us, they’ll enjoy our comfortable hotel suites, designed with your dogs’ comfort in mind. Other reasons to choose The Woof Room:

  • We are locally owned and operated.
  • We limit the number of dogs admitted each day to ensure a safe and fun environment.
  • Dogs are separated by both size and play style to ensure their comfort and enjoyment.
  • Our playrooms are larger than industry standard.
  • No cages! Your dog is here to play. We understand that you could’ve left your dogs in a crate at home, so they won’t be crated if you bring them to daycare here – we have an open play style where the dogs are in the play areas ALL day, even during their relaxation time.

Why should I bring my dog to daycare?
There are many benefits to bringing your dog to daycare. The Woof Room provides love and attention for your dog, as well as offers important socialization and exercise, so you can have peace of mind while enjoying a guilt-free day of either work or play. At the end of the day, your dog will have had an exciting day of play while you have had a busy day as well. This is the best of both worlds, so you can both spend your evening at ease.

What are your hours?
Our Lobby is open:
7:00am to 7:00pm Monday – Friday
8:00am to 6:00pm Saturday & Sunday
Holidays: Closed for drop-offs & pick-ups
The Woof Room holidays include: New Year’s Day, Easter, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.

What if I need to drop off or pick my dog up after-hours?
Arrangements can usually be made to drop your dog off or pick them up as early as 6:30am on weekdays and 7:30am on weekends for a $5.00 surcharge. If you drop your dog off or pick your dog up after 7:00pm on weekdays or after 6:00pm on weekends, a surcharge of $5.00 will also be charged. Any dog still at The Woof Room at 8:00pm will be admitted to our overnight hotel at our regular hotel pricing.

Can I tour your facilities?
Of course – we accommodate tours when it is least disruptive to the dogs – 15 to 30 minutes prior to lobby opening or after close. Please call ahead to schedule a tour or take a look at our webcams.

What do I need to do before my first visit?

Make sure you dog has current vaccinations for Rabies, Bordetella, DHPP (Distemper, Hepatitis, Parvo, Para-Influenza) – proof of these vaccines is required by all dogs at The Woof Room, so please bring a current vaccination record with you on your first visit. If your dog is over the age of 9 months, we require them to be spayed or neutered. If it is during the months of April-October, your dog must also have appropriate flea and tick protection.

What is the evaluation and why is it necessary?
We require an evaluation before your dog enters group play to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all. During this time, your dog will receive personalized attention from a staff member and be introduced to a few new friends to assess style of play. They will then be introduced to the group play atmosphere, so they can adjust to all of the fun! Your dog should plan to be here for a minimum of two hours, but if everything goes well, they are welcome to stay for a normal day of play at our standard daycare rate. Unlike other dog daycares, we do not charge for this initial two-hour evaluation.

What happens if my dog fails the evaluation?
Unfortunately, we cannot allow them into the open play areas of the daycare – but that doesn’t mean they can’t visit us! Dogs that are not a good fit for the daycare environment are welcome to stay overnight in our hotel (on a case by case basis). Because they will not be admitted into our open play, they will be let outside every few hours to move around and will get plenty of love and attention from our staff.

Do you allow puppies?
Yes, we love puppies, but for their safety, all puppies should be 14 weeks old and must have their first three sets of vaccinations before visiting daycare at The Woof Room. Puppies younger than 14 weeks are allowed in our hotel, but will not be in open play.

Do you allow ‘Bully Breeds’?
Unfortunately, we are unable to allow any of the ‘Bully Breed’ dogs into the open play daycare. We love to play with them ourselves, but their style of play is sometimes not compatible for a daycare setting. We would be happy to have your ‘Bully Breed’ dog stay overnight in our hotel though. Because they will not be admitted to our open play, they will receive individual play time outside, as well as plenty of love and attention from our staff. ‘Bully Breed’ dogs include Pit Bulls, Chow Chows, Staffordshire Terrier, or dogs resembling these breeds.

Are reservations required?
Reservations are not required. However, we do limit the number of dogs we take each day, so they are always recommended. You may make reservations by calling 763-400-7798 or by clicking here for daycare reservations or here for hotel reservations. Reservations are strongly recommended if you are planning an overnight stay for your dog over a weekend, holiday or in the summer months.

What do the dogs do while they are at The Woof Room?
During the day, daycare is a nonstop day of fun! The dogs spend time in one of our large indoor play spaces, where there are many play items as well as several staff members eager to keep the dogs occupied. The dogs also spend time in our large outdoor play yard, where they can bask in the MN weather (when it cooperates), relieve themselves and continue to play.

In the evening after the daycare dogs have left, all dogs staying overnight are fed, cuddled and introduced to their hotel suite. They are usually exhausted from their day of fun and enjoy a peaceful slumber to rest up for another fun day!

Should I send toys with my dog?
Because some dogs are very attached to the toys they have at home, we ask that you do not send their toy with them to daycare. We have plenty of toys for them to play with here! If your dog is staying overnight, you may send a toy, as well as bedding or other familiar/comfortable items to make them feel more at home. These items will stay in their suite.

Can you feed my dog or give them medication?
Definitely, most of the daycare dogs eat before they come to play, but if you’d like them to have lunch, just bring it when you drop them off, and we’d be happy to give them a lunch break. For medications, please make sure to bring the vet’s instructions, along with the medication.
If your dog is staying overnight, please be sure to bring their food from home in a closeable container along with feeding instructions. House food is available for an additional charge if you forget.

What is your cancellation policy?
We understand things can come up, so we do not charge a cancellation fee for daycare. Because of the significant demand for our hotel, we do ask that you provide us with at least 72 hours notice if you plan to cancel your dog’s hotel stay*. To avoid the cancellation fee, you must call or e-mail no later than 12pm three days (72 hours) prior to your dog’s hotel stay (i.e. if your dog is scheduled to arrive on Friday you must call be 12pm on Tuesday to cancel). If your dog does not provide at least 72 hours notice – or does not show up for the reserved hotel stay we will add a cancellation charge to your account that will be due immediately and can be paid by credit card over the phone or in-person in our lobby. The cancellation charge will be equal to one night’s hotel stay.

*Holiday Cancellation Policy
Because our hotel fills up fast for holidays and we have waiting lists, we do require a $50 deposit to confirm your hotel reservation. The deposit will be applied to your dogs stay. If you need to reschedule or cancel your dogs hotel stay, changes must be made at least 14 days in advance of your dog’s stay to receive a refund of your deposit. Cancellations or changes made less than 14 days in advance will result in a forfeiture of your deposit. Your hotel reservation will not be confirmed until we have received your deposit. The Holiday Cancellation Policy applies to Memorial Day weekend, 4th of July, Labor Day weekend, and any stay occurring between Thanksgiving through January 2nd. Changes include a reduction of nights needed with less than two weeks notice.
